Lithuania to stage military parade in Vilnius to mark army centennial

Lithuanian soldiers and members of the Riflemen’s Union, a civilian paramilitary organization, are expected to be joined for the parade in the capital’s Konstitucijos Avenue by troops from NATO‘s multinational battalion and the Baltic air-policing mission, and the trilateral Lithuanian, Polish and Ukrainian Brigade, the Defense Ministry told BNS on Wednesday.

The parade is planned to be the largest military event ever held on the streets of Lithuania, with around 2,000 military personnel expected to take part and Lithuania’s top leaders and foreign guests to be invited to attend.
