Lithuanian business set to explore India

While commending the success of the Lithuanian economy, Mr Akbar exhorted Lithuanian business to strongly consider making in india, which itself offers a 1.2 billion market, 600 million skilled and employable youth and a strong and enabling Government, which is firmly set on achieving high levels of economic growth to meet people’s aspirations. He highlighted the Indian opportunity, with the over 2 trillion dollar economy projected to double every 7-8 years, through growth triggered by transformational reform. Lithuania, as a strong friend, would be welcomed in India to partner in this success story, the Minister remarked.

Ambassador Ajay Bisaria emphasized the growing bilateral trade which rose by 25 % to reach US $ 335 million last year and urged Lithuania’s industry to actively participate in India’s upcoming mega business events, mainly IIFT and World Food India 2017.

The discussions also revolved around opportunities for Indo-Lithuanian cooperation in areas such as IT, pharmaceuticals, renewable energy, lasers, medical devices, agriculture, chemicals, healthcare, education and tourism.
