Prestigious conference Istanbul Finance Summit is already in its eighth consecutive year. “Each year, the summit brings together decision makers, bankers, corporate financiers, regulators and other important figures from economy and finance sectors,” says Dr. Murat Yülek, chairman of the Advisory Board of the Istanbul Finance Summit, announcing that this year’s main theme (determined in cooperation with the Presidency of Turkey) is “Fin-Tech and Risk Management”. With the primary theme of “Geopolitical Risks and Finance” and with a rich content and intense exchange of views, last year’s Istanbul Finance Summit was the first international summit organized after the coup attempt in Turkey on July 2016, hosting 40 speakers from 12 countries and 1123 participants from 27 countries.
In 2016, Gintarė Narkevičiūtė joined other leaders to discuss current issues and find most fitting solutions. At last year’s event CEO of Nexus Operations spoke about geopolitical outlook in different parts of the world, particularly focusing on Europe and Middle East, including Russia. She analyzed how financial institutions and businesses could secure capital flows and investments in the face of geopolitical risk. Concerns regarding Brexit situation were also expressed. “By providing high-quality insights about those issues, we have earned respect and authority. We were noticed by many important companies and agents, with some we have been cooperating until now. I have no doubt that this year’s conference will be even more beneficial and it will guarantee that Lithuania’s and its neighbors’ voices are heard and accepted,” expects G. Narkevičiūtė.
According to Gintarė Narkevičiūtė, an invitation to join the board of business and finance leaders is a significant recognition. It’s important to note that at this event, Nexus Operations is the only representative from Northern Europe. Within a past year, company grew and enlarged its activities in the fields of investment, business, import and export, recruitment, financial and political risk management and more.
“Active participation in international events is an integral part of international relations,” specifies Gintarė Narkevičiūtė, noting that not only such events provide opportunities for networking, but they often become a platform that helps to establish agreements and negotiations. “Leading a multinational company requires constant participation in current events, good knowledge of foreign policy and the ability to assess the geopolitical situation and the threats posed by it. But at the same time you must always exploit opportunities. Overall, Lithuania has been represented in a variety of bilateral and multilateral formats in different positions for almost a decade. Spreading the name of my country is an honor and a privilege, sustained by tireless effort that shows in the results of international activities that our company is working on every day,” says CEO and Co-founder of Nexus Operations.
