The court said the applicant was proposed as candidate for Vilnius City Council, however, his registration was revoked due to undeclared place of residence.
The Vilnius court also said that the applicant last year declared his residence in Vilnius through the electronic gate and was notified by the Central Electoral Commission that he was eligible for voting in the elections to the European Parliament (EP) as a citizen of the European Union (EU). The panel of judges said that the data contained in the case was conflicting, as the registration was not reflected in the letter validating the election watchdog’s decision.
