The Lithuanian Radio and Television Commission has given the green light for Teo LT to re-broadcast the Russian TV channel in Lithuania, the company said in a press release.
“Teo will be the first nationwide re-broadcaster in Lithuania to include Dozhd into its main package of TV channels. It (Dozhd) broadcasts reports about Russia (and) events in Ukraine and is not welcomed by major television operators in Russia,” it said.
Teo expects that the channel will become popular among the Russian-speaking population of Lithuania.
Dozhd was one of the first channels in Russia to openly cover the 2011 Russian protests against the alleged rigging of the parliamentary elections.
