Lithuanian Foreign Ministry website hit by cyber attack

“Our specialists said it was a DDoS attack,” the foreign minister’s spokesman Kęstutis Vaškelevičius told BNS.

DDoS attacks involve a large number of inquiries from various Internet points, thus interrupting operations of the website due to excessive visitor flows.

The attackers targeted urm.lt and keliauk.urm.lt websites, with the latter suffering more damage from the cyber attacks, Vaškelevičius said.

Earlier this week, reports came about hacker attacks on the parliament’s website started last Saturday. The attacks continued on Tuesday, the Seimas office said.
