Aurelija Katkuvienė, the intelligence agency’s spokeswoman, confirmed to BNS that VSD had turned to law-enforcement “over unlawful disclosure of intelligence information”, but gave no details.
The Prosecutor General’s Office told BNS that it had received the department’s complaint on Wednesday.
“I confirm that a document has been received from the State Security Department regarding intelligence information that has been made public,” Elena Martinonienė, its spokeswoman, said.
“The Prosecutor’s Office will examine the request and will take an appropriate decision,” she added.
The media earlier this month made public a part of the information on businesses’ influence on political processes that the intelligence agency had provided to the country’s top officials and the Seimas Committee on National Security and Defense.
Most of the information was on MG Baltic, one of Lithuania’s biggest business groups.
