Lithuanian MEP Landsbergis to head EP Central Asia Delegation

Lithuanian MEP was nominated to head the delegation by the European People’s Party political group – the biggest political force in the EP.

“I appreciate this position and the trust of my colleagues from the European People’s Party. I regard this as a meaningful foundation for future activities and a credit to Lithuania as well. An opportunity to head the European Union interparliamentary activities with the countries of Central Asian region is a significant foreign policy instrument. I will seek to actively use it by enhancing cooperation and economic, energy and cultural relations with those countries, most of which are part of the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States),” said Landsbergis.

MEP Gabrielius Landsbergis will also work in the EP-US Cooperation Delegation.
