On Wednesday the NMA submitted a request to the Ministry of Finance to be allocated LTL 60.7 million (EUR 17.6 million). Funds will be first of all distributed to farmers who had registered dairy cows in the Animal Register on 1 April – 30 October. The amount of support is LTL 52 (EUR 15) per tonne of milk.
In December other recipients of aid will be distributed additional LTL 1.3 million (EUR 0.4 million) based on payment procedures for transitional national aid for milk. The remaining LTL 4 million (EUR 1.16 million) will be distributed in early 2015. The transitional national aid for milk is paid to dairy producers and is calculated based on 2006-2007 milk supply quotas.
