Lithuanian PM calls emergency meeting on security

According to Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius, the meeting will focus on ways to contribute to international efforts against terrorism as well as measures to ensure domestic security. The meeting will also address refugee resettlement plans, an issue that has become particularly sensitive following suspicions that some perpetrators in the Paris attacks could have entered Europe with refugees.

Lithuania’s intelligence services, the State Border Guard Service and the police have said they were taking extra measures to ensure security after the attacks on Friday night. Officers say, however, that there are no grounds to raise terrorism alert level in Lithuania.
