“I am very pleased that the Committee on Social Affairs and Labour is now actively working every day. I want to thank members of the Committee and welcome their positive attitude towards deliberation of legislation,” the head of Government told the radio Žinių Radijas.
Butkevičius added that on Thursday a meeting was scheduled with Kristina Miškinienė, Chairwoman of the Seimas Committee on Social Affairs and Labour, in order to discuss the progress made on the social model.
The so-called social model, drafted by the Government, is aimed at liberalising labour relations and revising the pension system of the State Social Security Fund Board. It would amend approximately 40 laws.
Earlier the prime minister said that Parliament may adopt legislation related to the social model in March or April 2016.
