According to a survey commissioned by DELFI, the social democrats are followed by two opposition parties – the Liberal Movement (13.6 percent) and the Homeland Union – Lithuanian Christian Democrats (9.3 percent).
The survey by Spinter Tyrimai also showed that 8.6 percent would vote for the ruling Order and Justice party and 6.4 percent would support the Labour Party. Both are also part of the ruling coalition in Lithuania.
The parties’ ratings have barely changed over the last month as the variations are within the margin of error.
Asked about the current government’s performance, 1.3 percent of respondents said they would evaluate the Cabinet’s work positively. 35.7 percent said they had a rather positive opinion about the Cabinet’s work. Meanwhile 32.6 percent expressed a rather negative and 20.7 had a negative opinion.
Asked to name a politician most suitable for the position of prime minister, 32.7 named incumbent Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius. He was followed by Liberal Movement leader Eligijus Masiulis (5.5 percent).
1,007 people, aged 18-75, were surveyed by Spinter Tyrimai on April 17-25.
