Lithuanian president slams EU Commissioner Andriukaitis over Russia embargo talks

According to Virginija Būdienė, the published letter of an EU officer to his Russian counterpart shows that “attempts are being made to propose to Russia to hold talks with individual EU member states on lifting the existing food embargo”.

“The president evaluates such a discriminatory decision by the European Commission negatively and sees it as an attempt to divide the EU, to divide the EU’s unity. It’s a deplorable precedent that amounts to some sort of provocation,” Būdienė told the Žinių Radijas radio on Tuesday morning.
