It will be Grybauskaitė’s sixth address and her first one since re-election last year.
Presidential adviser on internal policy issues Mindaugas Lingė told the Žinių Radijas news radio on Tuesday that, just as in the previous years, the address should not be longer than half an hour and that it would not be an “activity report” or “giving marks for each other” but it would review key internal and foreign policy issues.
“This year’s address, just as the previous ones, will focus on what we have managed to achieve and where we need to brush up, focus on and make necessary decisions,” he said.
Under the Lithuanian Constitution, the president delivers the State of the Nation Address on the country’s internal and foreign policies in the Seimas every year.
Grybauskaitė was elected for the first presidential term in May 2009 and was re-elected in May 2014.
