Lithuania last year had the eight-lowest number of significant railway accidents in Europe, at 24, down from 26 in 2012.
Latvia last year reported 26 significant railway accidents and Estonia registered 15 accidents, compared with 25 and 20 the previous year.
The total number of significant accidents in Europe last year fell by 4 percent to 1,982 accidents.
Seventeen people were killed and another eight were seriously injured in railway accidents in Lithuania last year, compared with 19 and eight in 2012. The number of suicides on railways declined to eight, from thirteen.
