Lithuanian TV watchdog to suspend Russian TV channel’s broadcasts

The move comes in response to the conclusions that on 19 November the channel broadcast the program “The Territory of Misrepresentation” which incited war and hatred. It is the first time a TV channel is punished for such violations.

“The program featured tendentious and biased information on recent events in Ukraine. It incited war and hatred of Ukrainians and legitimate Ukrainian government as well as of EU and NATO countries that support Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” RTCL chairman Edmundas Vaitekūnas said.
