Lithuanian warship takes turn at NATO Response Force

The Lithuanian vessel joined the forces after arriving in the German city of Kiel, thus becoming part of the NATO 1st group of mine-hunters, the Ministry of National Defence said on Wednesday.

Skalvis will serve in the unit and attend exercises in the Baltic and the North Seas until December.

The six-month shift of the 1st group of mine-hunters includes eight ships from Belgium, Estonia, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway and the United Kingdom.
