Statistics Lithuania reports that October’s consumer confidence index was -18 and grew 2 percentage points from September.
A total of 15 percent of residents say that their household financial situation had improved during last 12 months, 24 percent said it had declined, and 61 percent said there had been no changes (in September, respectively 12, 25 and 63 percent). Assessing likely changes in their household financial situation in the upcoming year, 15 percent of residents said they expected it would improve, 32 percent believed it would worsen, and 48 percent predicted no changes in their household financial situation (in September, respectively 13, 33 and 50 percent).
When assessing the economic situation in the country, 25 percent of residents said it had improved within the last year, 31 percent said it had declined, while 43 percent saw no changes (in September, respectively 23, 32 and 45 percent). 18 percent of those polled said the economic situation in the country in the next 12 months would improve, 42 percent said it would worsen, and 35 percent said it would remain the same (in September, respectively 17, 47 and 32 percent).
