Lithuanians see radio as most reliable source of information

Radio is trusted by 66 percent of respondents in Lithuania and an average of 59 percent of those polled across the European Union (EU), which also makes it the most trusted source of information in the community.

Lithuanians and Europeans regard television as the second most reliable source of information, trusted by 62 percent in Lithuania and 50 percent in the EU.

According to Eurobarometer, printed press is trusted by 53 percent of respondents in Lithuania and an average of 46 percent of those polled in the EU.

Internet, as a source of information, is trusted by 43 percent of Lithuanian residents, which his one of the highest indicators across the EU where the average confidence stands at 26 percent, the European Commission’s mission in Lithuania said.

Social media as a reliable source of information was listed by 28 percent of those polled in Lithuania and by 21 percent in the EU.

The Eurobarometer survey was conducted in November of 2016 in all 28 nations of the EU. In Lithuania, it questioned 1,009 respondents above the age of 15.
