The lawmaker registered such an amendment to the Statute of the Seimas in response to the parliament’s recent decision to vote against the appointment of Judge Edita Dambrauskienė as the country’s prosecutor general, despite several major political groups’ official pledge to support the nomination.
“Part of the public were disappointed with such voting results which were unexpectedly different from the statements of members of the Seimas political groups during the presentation of the candidate. Unfortunately, voters have no possibility to know how individual Seimas members voted on such issues,” Razma was quoted as saying in a statement issued on Tuesday.
