Lithuania’s DefMin presenting performance, planned changes in cyber security

“Actual changes in the field of cyber security have started in the country, however, this does not mean we are safer than we were six months ago,” Defense Vice-Minister Edvinas Kerza said.

In his words, over the past six months, organizations have stepped up implementation of organizational and technical requirements of cyber security, the government approved a list of information resources of special importance, and the Defense Ministry is half-way through consolidation of state cyber security and electronic functions and services. After it is in place, services in charge of cyber security will provide assistance to state institutions and residents at a one-stop-shop, the ministry said.

The changes will be presented by Kerza, with Defense Minister Raimundas Karoblis and Rytis Rainys, director of the Networks and Information Security Department at the Communications Regulatory Authority, also attending the event.
