Lithuania’s ex-MP Paulauskas founding movement with other Labor members

Raimundas Paliukas, former Labor MP who is one of the founders of the new force, told BNS that the decision to found the movement titled Go Lithuania had been made by about 60 individuals from across Lithuania at a meeting on Saturday.

“The initiative came from our branches, from below, everyone gathered and decided to establish the movement, Arturas Paulauskas was unanimously elected as the movement’s leader. People were very active, Arturas presented his vision and objectives, which were approved with some amendments, a decision was taken to edit them before presenting to the public and registering the movement. The name Go Lithuania has been endorsed,” said Paliukas.

The new movement should be registered within two weeks. Both Paliukas and Paulauskas are still members of the Labor Party but pledged to submit their withdrawal applications by email early next week.
