The news was announced on Friday by Interior Minister Saulius Skvernelis and the ministry’s senior advisor Evaldas Serbenta.
“We have referred to the Prosecutor General’s Office regarding two cases of public procurement which seemed to have unrealistic implementation and delivery deadlines so that the authority evaluated and makes decisions on potentially non-transparent public procurement,” Minister Skvernelis said.
One of the public procurement deals was worth LTL 238,000 (EUR 69,000), the other one, LTL 488,000 (EUR 141,500).
Both public procurement contracts were closed when the Interior Ministry was headed by the then minister Dailis Alfonsas Barakauskas.
