“The threat of terrorism has clearly increased in Europe recently. Lithuania cannot act as if nothing is happening. Therefore, it is crucial to provide appropriate funding not only for national defence but also to agencies responsible for counter-terrorism. We need strong armed forces and modern weaponry, but we also need actually operating services and intelligence officers who can combat terrorism,” said Kęstutis Glaveckas, member of the Liberal Movement political group in the Seimas and Deputy Chairman of the Seimas Committee on Budget and Finance.
