The Lithuanian Radio and Television Commission, a media watchdog, has stated that LRT violated the regulations that apply to the national broadcaster, which is fully funded by the government, and will be fined.
LRT, which operates several TV channels and radio stations, has been fully funded with public money since 2015 and is not allowed to air commercial advertising.
However, the Radio and Television Commission found that LRT aired blocks of advertising during broadcasts of the Eurovision Song Contest on May 10, 12 and 14.
