LLRA considered dismissed energy minister for mayoral candidate

“I believe this is one of the options. We discussed this with Neverovič yesterday – he is rather sceptical, says he does not see himself in politics and plans to work in European structures. This is one of the options, I believe it’s rather realistic. We are constantly talking about it, I believe everything will work out,” Tomaševski told BNS on Wednesday.

Neverovič was sacked from the post of energy minister on Tuesday after he obeyed Tomaševski’s orders to appoint controversial politician Renata Cytacka as energy vice-minister against the prime minister’s will.

In Tomaševski’s words, the party’s council, which is meeting on Thursday, will set the resignation date of the remaining three vice-ministers of the Electoral Action of Poles in Lithuania. He said they may resign in the nearest days or after the start of the parliament’s fall session on 10 September.

The government currently includes three LLRA vice-ministers, namely, Agriculture Vice-Minister Leokadija Pocikovska, Transport and Communication Vice-Minister Vladislav Kondratovič and Education and Science Vice-Minister Edita Tamošiūnaitė.
