“This morning the person returned from sick leave. Disciplinary action has now been taken and the person has been notified of his dismissal,” Kelly Herman of the Europe of Freedom and Direct Democracy group said.
The EP security division established that a member of the group’s secretariat, Kevin Ellul Bonici of Malta, placed 700 copies of the book, Red Dalia, into post boxes of EP members together with a Russian citizen and a Moscow-born Polish citizen.
Lithuanian MEPs of the EFDD, Rolandas Paksas and Valentinas Mazuronis, said they had nothing to do with the distribution of the book. Rūta Janutienė, the author of the Lithuanian version of the book, said the book had been translated without her knowledge. The group also distanced itself from the incident.
