Measles outbreak reported in Lithuania

This indicates a high increase year-on-year, the Centre for Communicable Diseases and AIDS said on Monday.

In 2015, outbreaks of measles were reported in many countries across Europe and the rest of the world.

In Lithuania, the majority of the cases were diagnosed in the Kaunas county, with cases also reported in the counties of Vilnius, Klaipėda, Panevėžys, Šiauliai and Utena.

According to the press release, vaccination is the only way of preventing measles.
