Currently the minimum monthly wage stands at LTL 1,000 (EUR 290). It was last time increased in December 2012.
Based on preliminary estimates, the state and local governments’ budgets will need around LTL 5 million (EUR 1.45 million) (including social security contributions) from October to December 2014 to cover the increased labour costs. In 2015, the budgets will additionally need over LTL 20.4 million (EUR 5.9 million).
Seimas Speaker Loreta Graužinienė says that the minimum monthly wage could be raised by LTL 100 (EUR 29) next year.
