Speaking to BNS on Thursday night, the minister said that the harmonized documents, including some classified, ensure unimpeded stationing of NATO capacities in the Baltic states.
“Most importantly to us, the capacities will be deployed where they are needed, at the time they are needed and in numbers they are needed – there will be no restrictions,” Linkevičius said in a telephone interview.
“We will see more presence in the air, in the sea and on land from the United States and other Allies,” the minister said.
In his words, it was Russia‘s actions in Ukraine that helped NATO to decide on more resolute steps.
Linkevičius said he cannot reveal all details but spoke about planned preposition of Allied equipment, planning elements, staff elements, deployment of forces for training and rotation capacities.
The NATO summit is scheduled to end on Friday.
