Minister of Agriculture: Farmers’ losses due to rain could reach EUR 40 mln

“According to preliminary calculations, the losses stand at about 40 million euros today. The losses different, depending on districts – from 1 to 7 million euros in the Panevėžys district where nearly 30,000 hectares were flooded because of rain,” Markauskas told the national radio LRT on Thursday.

In his words, an emergency situation should be announced next week across the country to give access to the state reserve funds.
