More than half of all schools in Lithuania inaccessible to kids with disabilities, says NGO

This information was collected in an alternative survey conducted by the Lithuanian Disability Forum. They claim that this situation arose because more than half of the schools in Lithuania are inaccessible to people with disabilities, because teachers do not have the appropriate qualifications, and because no appropriate teaching materials are available.

According to the study, these conditions also impact the small number of disabled students in higher education. There are only about 1,000 students with disabilities in higher education, which is less than one percent of all students.
