“The official campaign starts with the registration of individual political campaign participants and public election committees,” Laura Matjošaitytė, chair of Lithuania’s Central Electoral Commission, told BNS Lithuania.
She underlined that since the start of the election campaign, candidates’ advertising must be included into accounting books and these expenses must be included into the election campaign expenses.
A municipal election is held in Lithuania with no more than five months left until the mandate of incumbent councilors expires.
