In Pečiulis’ words, the MPs had requested unreasonably large amounts of documents from LRT.
“I question the volume and the deadlines, why should we present so many documents of various character in one go? (…) We virtually had to provide contracts for five or six years,” the LRT council chairman told BNS on Tuesday.
“If they say that the LRT council is insulting the parliament, we would want a more respectful stance of the parliament towards the LRT council and the LRT administration,” he added.
Peciulis said that the LRT had to prepare detailed information for the parliament during the holiday season “in a rush, on days-off and outside office hours.”
In his words, the parliamentarians demonstrated they did not want answers but just make a turmoil. The chairman of the LRT council expressed hope that the parliamentary ad hoc commission for the inquiry into the national broadcaster’s activities would work in a more constructive manner.
