NATO asks Russia questions about Zapad exercise close to Lithuania

“The Alliance asks questions to Russia about the character, scale, locations and scenario of the exercise, as well as whether some of the units will stay in Belarus or Kaliningrad after the training,” Leškevičius told BNS in a telephone interview from Brussels.

In his words, NATO also inquired about invitation of observers, however, did not receive clear answers.

NATO, in its turn, provided Russia with information about the Trident Javelin 2017 exercise planned to take place in Norway, voicing an expectation for the same type of transparency from Moscow, said Leškevičius.
