Vilnius City Mayor Remigijus Šimašius has confirmed his plans of proposing his current IT adviser Povilas Poderskis for the post.
Šimašius said Vaitkunskienė had played a key role in putting Vilnius in a far better financial situation that it was in at the start of the term.
“We now want to focus on the ideas and tasks that would allow fast development of a modern Vilnius. Therefore, I am considering Povilas Poderskis who has been my adviser until now for the new administrative director. He is a person who does not only have ideas needed for the city’s growth but also abilities to translate them into reality. This is exactly the type of an administrative director Vilnius currently needs,” said the mayor.
Poderskis, 27-year-old IT specialist, said he would agree to take the post.
