The acting Minister of Health Aurelijus Veryga and the representative of the National Centre for Public Health Daiva Razmuvienė on November 30 presented new possible restrictions.
“It was proposed to reduce the number of people in groups in public places from 5 to 2,” Veryga said. One of the reasons for this proposal, according to the minister, is that people are attracted to various holidays and events that are not officially called events – lights on Christmas trees in Vilnius and Kaunas.
At a meeting of the COVID-19 committee, it was also proposed to ban the advertising of various promotions and sales. Aurelijus Veryga urged residents to make more purchases on the Internet, and send gifts by mail. Plus, they offer children’s winter holidays to start earlier.
Acting Minister of Health Aurelijus Veryga has no plans to take additional security measures in connection with the coronavirus infection on a mink farm, but after the conclusions of the State Food and Veterinary Service, more can be said about the situation on the farm in the Jonava region.
A COVID-19 infection was detected on November 26 at a mink farm in Jonava region, the virus was found in 169 samples of mink that died suddenly. Minister Veryga says this is “troubling,” but no further action will be taken until the investigation is complete.
Remember that Denmark has decided to destroy the entire population of 15 million minks because there are fears that the virus may mutate and become resistant to vaccines.
