The new speed measurement system based on laser technology will unlike other speed measuring systems captures all traffic lanes, so that even in a case where two vehicles are traveling side by side both speeds will be measured, according to Vladas Steponkus, the project manager at Viltechna which services the speed meter system.
“No matter how many cars are running in parallel, if they follow or overtake one another, they are all photographed if they break the rules. The old radar system registers an error in a situation when two cars are running one after the other,” said Steponkus.
