No plans to ban pig farming in Lithuania

“No, it is not under consideration. There are decisions made concerning the buffer zone. So far we do not consider banning pig rearing in small farms in Lithuania,” said the minister in a press conference when asked about the possibility to stop pig farming for some time.

According to Baltraitienė, a ban to rear pigs would be a drastic measure. “And so far there is no need for that,” added the minister.
