“We view the resignation of Health Deputy Minister Gediminas Černiauskas in the light of corruption suspicions as an example to Interior Minister Dailis Alfonsas Barakauskas who should voluntarily resign without any urges as discreditable facts about his ministry came to the surface. Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius, in his turn, should resolutely demand his resignation. However, one may think that Butkevičius is deterred from such decisions by some unclear factors as he seems so hesitant regarding the situation,” Seimas opposition leader, conservative Andrius Kubilius said.
Members of the opposition say that the minister’s behaviour encourages people’s distrust in the Government and Prime Minister Butkevicius.
