Over 100 flu patients hospitalized in Lithuania

Figures from the Centre for Communicable Diseases and AIDS show that out of 105 people hospitalized with flue complications, 19 were children under two years old. Thirteen patients are being treated in intensive care.

Between January 18 and 24, over 79 cases of flu or URI were recorded per population of 10,000 (1,452 flu cases), compared to 57 cases per 10,000 (313 flu cases) before.

Speaking to journalists on Monday, Saulius Čaplinskas, head of the Centre for Communicable Diseases, estimated that the number of flu and URI cases would grow further.
