PM’s popularity continues growing

Skvernelis is favored by 72.5 percent of those polled (up from 70.7 pct in February) and disliked by 9.4 percent (7.4 pct).

President Dalia Grybauskaitė ranks second on the popularity list, with ratings rising to 64.3 percent in March, from 61.7 percent a month ago. The head-of-state is disliked by 20.2 percent of respondents (21.1 pct in February).

Parliamentary Speaker Viktoras Pranckietis of the LFGU saw a sharp increase to 51.6 percent in March, from 41.5 percent a month ago. Pranckietis was disfavored by 11.8 percent of those polled (10.2 pct a month ago).

Foreign Minister Linas Linkevičius ranks fourth on the list (liked by 47.5 pct and disliked by 17.4 pct), followed by Kaunas Mayor Visvaldas Matijošaitis (liked by 42.6 pct and disliked by 19.7 pct).

According to the survey, Grybauskaite remains the best representative of people’s interests – 18.9 percent in March, up from 15.9 percent in February. Skvernelis was second with 16.6 percent (14.2 pct), ahead of LFGU leader Ramūnas Karbauskis with 6.9 percent (unchanged from February), the ruling Social Democratic Party’s leader Algirdas Butkevičius with 4 percent (3.6 pct) and the conservatives’ leader Gabrielius Landsbergis with 3.9 percent (3.7 pc t).

The survey was conducted by Vilmorus polling company on March 8-12.
