President Grybauskaitė dismisses Energy Minister Neverovič

The president signed the degree after receiving a request from Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius. Neverovič is to quit the post on 25 August.

Minister of Communications Rimantas Sinkevičius has been appointed as Acting Minister of Energy until 7 September. From 8 September until a new minister is appointed, the duties will be taken over by Minister of Economy Evaldas Gustas.

The prime minister submitted a request to dismiss Neverovič after he reappointed Renata Cytacka, fellow member of the Electoral Action of Poles in Lithuania party, as his deputy despite Butkevičius’ instructions otherwise.

The political council of the Coalition will hold a meeting next week to decide whether the party will remain in the government.
