Prime Minister asks for chief veterinary officer’s dismissal

“Agriculture Minister Baltraitienė, whose ministry controls the State Food and Veterinary Service, has been instructed to immediately submit conclusions regarding the service’s performance and a concrete proposal as to whether Milius, the head of the service, is suitable to continue to perform his duties,” the PM’s office said in a statement.

The prime minister, who is currently on vacation, plans to discuss this issue with the minister next week.
