“It is not Mr. Tomaševski who forms the Cabinet. He may only, as the leader of the party, recommend people, yet if the minister submits nominations to me, and he must do it, I will definitely not approve this nomination,” said Butkevičius in an interview to the national radio LRT on Tuesday.
Speaking of the process of the approval of deputy ministers in general, the prime minister said that almost all the ministers had chosen their deputies.
“At present enquiries are addressed to the Special Investigation Service (STT), since, as never before, after the restoration of independence this Government is very thorough in selecting people to work in the Cabinet: deputy ministers, advisers, assistants to ministers,” said Butkevičius.
