“Over past years, there has been a considerable increase in the amount of Russian production on Lithuanian television channels. The production often features promotion of Russian or Soviet lifestyles, elements of nostalgia for the Soviet Union that lead to disappointment in the democratic system and pro-Kremlin beliefs. In this case, it is important to emphasize that the Russian culture is lined with politics. Russia views television as an instrument of ‘soft power’ that is very important in the context of information warfare,” said Kasčiūnas.
