Russian arms inspectors to visit Lithuania

The Russian inspectors will have the right to visit Lithuanian military units and training grounds within a 20-square-kilometer area of their choice and to be briefed by the commander of the Iron Wolf mechanized infantry brigade, the Lithuanian Defense Ministry said in a press release.

The inspectors will be given an opportunity to fly over a chosen area aboard a Lithuanian Air Force plane, it said.

It will be this year’s third arms control inspection by a foreign country in Lithuania within the framework of the so-called 2011 Vienna Document. It will follow visits by a group of Belarusian and Russian arms control inspectors in June and by a group of Ukrainian inspectors in July.
