99 lawmakers voted in favor of the amendments, with no votes against and three abstentions.
The amendments were adopted taking into account the ongoing pan-European personal data protection reform aimed at strengthening persons’ right to the protection of their personal data and ensuring equal and high-level protection of people’s personal information across the EU.
The adopted amendments will come into force on Jul. 16.
