Dalia Vencevicienė, adviser to Pranckietis, said this would be the first type of such meetings, which would be attended by officials of the Special Investigations Service (STT) and the State Security Department (VSD). The meeting will be held behind closed doors.
“Parliamentary Speaker Viktoras Pranckietis is holding a meeting of Seimas board on influence of business groups upon Lithuania’s political system, investments that are inconsistent with Lithuania’s security interests, non-transparent lobbyism and the damages it causes, nepotism and perfectionism in the state sector, corruption violations and measures of avoiding them,” said Venckevicienė.
The Seimas board will be updated on the information from the Special Investigation Service and legislative initiatives and the threat assessment of the State Security Department. The meeting should address initiatives aimed at boosting efforts against corruption.
