“Skvernelis spoke very clearly about the goals and objectives and about what we have to do for Lithuania and where we can step back. I see a negotiator here, a person who wants to achieve results,” Landsbergis told reporters at his party’s headquarters on Sunday night.
“Meanwhile, all Karbauskis did, from the very first days when he began making his demands known, was draw red lines,” he said.
“Today is the day when we will see whether it was part of election campaigning or it as really a negotiating position. For my part, I have not taken part in talks until now,” he added.
Landsbergis thinks that the Peasant and Green Union’s leaders will have difficulty agreeing between themselves on talks with their future coalition partners.
“Skvernelis and Karbauskis will have a difficult time. They will have to decide on what style they choose and how they negotiate, because we have until now seen two different people with different views toward Lithuania and the most important tasks for Lithuania,” the conservative leader said.
